Finally I have finished building the site for this extraordinary community, Komunitas 1001buku. It has taken 2 whole months of my focus and now it's finally ready. For your information since May 2002, I've really fallen in love with this group of people who devoted their spare time collecting used childrens' books and educational toys by putting Book Drop Boxes on public spaces and then distributing them to Children's Community Libraries around Indonesia.
And today will be the first time ever we launch our community. Why did we choose Januari the 10th as our birthday? Look closely if you write it down in the "ddmm" format. You'll always remember that 1001buku was born on 10-01 right?
The Launch will take place in the British Council Library (thank you British Council for your generous support) and we even have Dewi Hughes as our special guest star.
Update : I am now no longer an active volunteer but someone who follows this community from a distance
